Job Summary
The Radiologic Technologist plays a vital role in the healthcare system, specializing in the performance of diagnostic imaging examinations. This professional is skilled in operating radiographic equipment and is responsible for obtaining high-quality images while ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for X-ray examinations.
- Operate radiographic equipment to capture images as per physician’s orders.
- Ensure proper exposure settings to obtain optimal image quality.
- Maintain and manage imaging equipment and maintain accurate records.
- Adhere to safety protocols to protect both patients and staff from unnecessary exposure to radiation.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Certification and licensure as required by state regulations.
- Proficiency in operating radiographic and imaging equipment.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, radiographic procedures, and patient care.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with patients of all ages.
