Job Summary
The Medication Refill Specialist is responsible for overseeing the process of prescription refill requests, managing the acquisition of insurance prior authorizations, and collaborating with pharmacies and pharmaceutical representatives. This role also entails providing health education to patients, alongside offering compassionate support to ensure adherence to medication and proper scheduling of follow-up appointments.
Responsibilities
- Manage and process prescription refill requests efficiently.
- Obtain necessary insurance prior authorizations for medication.
- Coordinate communication between pharmacies and pharmaceutical representatives.
- Deliver health education and medication instruction to patients.
- Support patients with adherence to their prescribed medications and follow-up appointments.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Preferred certification as an LPN or Pharmacy Technician.
- At least one year of experience in an ambulatory healthcare environment.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
