Research Associate I
Boston, MA
$35-45/hr
The Research Associate I will play a crucial role in our autonomous laboratory by conducting plate-based screenings and selections that enable the evaluation of numerous engineered strains simultaneously.
Responsibilities of the Research Associate I:
- Perform high-throughput screenings and selections utilizing the liquid-handling robotics and integrated detection systems of the autonomous lab.
- Convert assigned screening protocols into automated workflows using coding techniques under the supervision of senior scientists.
- Design and fine-tune cultivation conditions and assays for automated implementation.
- Assess the efficiency of screenings, troubleshoot any failures or inconsistencies, and report anomalies for further investigation.
- Keep precise records of screening data and protocols that align with the lab’s automated data management systems.
Requirements for the Research Associate I:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, chemical or biological engineering, or a related field.
- Willingness to work in or eagerness to learn about an automated, high-throughput, robotics-oriented lab setting, including software- and code-based workflows.
- Experience with plate-based assays and/or automated liquid handling is advantageous.
- Familiarity with automated workflows and relevant software is a plus.
