Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for administering and overseeing respiratory therapies, including PAP, ventilator, and oxygen therapy within patients’ homes. This role focuses on conducting thorough patient assessments, delivering essential education, and working closely with healthcare teams to guarantee safe transitions for patients into home care environments.
Responsibilities
- Administer and manage respiratory therapies in home settings.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ respiratory needs.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory care and home management.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient transitions to home care.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust therapies as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an AMA-approved respiratory therapy program.
- A minimum of one year of clinical experience in the field.
- Valid and unrestricted respiratory therapist license or a nursing license (RN/LPN).
- Current CPR certification.
