Job Summary
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ED) plays a crucial role in providing immediate care to patients experiencing acute medical conditions. This position involves assessing, planning, and implementing care to individuals, ensuring rapid and effective treatment in high-pressure situations. The RN will collaborate with other healthcare team members to deliver the highest quality of patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients presenting with a variety of medical emergencies.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor patient responses.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop patient care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
- Recognize and respond effectively to life-threatening situations according to established protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and progress.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Completion of an accredited nursing program.
- Previous experience in an emergency department or critical care setting is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
