Job Summary
The RN Emergency Department plays a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to patients in urgent situations. This position requires effective assessment, planning, and implementation of nursing interventions in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the delivery of optimal care to individuals experiencing medical emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ conditions upon their arrival in the emergency department.
- Implement appropriate nursing interventions based on established protocols and individual patient needs.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and modify patient care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients’ conditions and document changes accurately in the medical records.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols within the emergency setting.
- Participate in continuous training and development to stay updated with best practices in emergency care.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant state.
- Experience in an emergency department or critical care setting is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to function efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
