Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department is a critical member of the healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in dynamic and often high-pressure situations. This role involves assessing, prioritizing, and treating patients experiencing medical emergencies, as well as collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective care delivery.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients upon arrival to the Emergency Department.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and presenting conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor their effects.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families in stressful situations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and progress in medical records.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver effective patient care.
- Stay updated on emergency procedures and participate in training sessions and drills to ensure preparedness.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience in emergency nursing or a related field is highly beneficial.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and handle multiple priorities.
