Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department plays a vital role in providing comprehensive medical care in urgent and critical situations. The nurse will be responsible for assessing patients, managing treatment plans, and collaborating with healthcare providers to deliver optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and monitor patients’ conditions, providing timely and quality nursing care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Assist in emergency procedures and interventions while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams regarding care plans and treatment progress.
- Document all patient interactions and care delivery accurately in medical records.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in an emergency care setting is highly desired.
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and respond to emergencies effectively.
