Job Summary
The RN Endoscopy position is designed for a registered nurse with specific expertise in endoscopic procedures. The role involves providing high-quality patient care, assisting in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures, and ensuring a safe and efficient workflow within the endoscopy unit.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the endoscopy suite and equipment for procedures.
- Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and comfort levels during and post-procedure.
- Administer sedation and other medications as prescribed by the physician.
- Educate patients and their families about the endoscopy process and post-procedure care.
- Document all relevant patient information and care provided in the medical records.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in an endoscopy or surgical setting preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
