Job Summary
The Nurse Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the nursing operations on a daily basis, which involves staff supervision, guiding team members, and ensuring high-quality patient care. This role is essential in maintaining effective personnel management, planning budgets, and making certain that all staff adhere to departmental policies and competencies.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily nursing operations and manage staff activities.
- Guide and mentor team members to foster professional growth and improve patient care practices.
- Oversee the delivery of patient care ensuring standards are met.
- Manage personnel actions, including hiring and performance evaluations.
- Plan and monitor the fiscal budget for the nursing department.
- Ensure compliance with department policies and staff competencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Active Illinois Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to obtain a National Nursing Certification within three years of employment.
