Job Summary
The RN – Surgery position involves providing high-quality nursing care in the surgical unit, ensuring that patients receive optimal support before, during, and after surgical interventions. This role entails collaborating with the surgical team to facilitate efficient operations and patient recovery.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Administer medications and manage intravenous therapy as prescribed.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical staff to ensure patient safety.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding surgical processes and recovery.
- Maintain a sterile environment to prevent infections and complications.
- Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with hospital policies.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
- Experience in surgical nursing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and post-operative care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
