As a **Sample Preparation Technician**, you will play a crucial role in supporting an efficient analytical process by carefully weighing and extracting samples within an office-based laboratory located in Chesterfield. This position demands dependability, keen attention to detail, fundamental computer skills, and the capacity to perform repetitive tasks with exacting accuracy. While the tasks are straightforward, they must be executed with precision and in line with relevant safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
Responsibilities of the Sample Preparation Technician:
- Accurately weigh and extract samples to aid a high-throughput analytical process.
- Adhere strictly to established protocols to ensure that sample preparation tasks are performed with accuracy, consistency, and meet the required standards.
- Carry out repetitive laboratory procedures while sustaining focus, precision, and a high level of attention to detail.
- Utilize basic computer skills to enter, monitor, or assist with sample-related data as necessary.
- Consistently maintain reliability, accuracy, and thoroughness in daily operations.
- Work within a laboratory environment involving alternating periods of standing and sitting throughout your shift.
- Comply with all PPE and safety regulations, including appropriate attire such as pants, a T-shirt (no sleeveless options), safety goggles, lab coat, necessary gloves, and ear protection when required.
- Be prepared to lift up to 50 lbs as necessary for supporting sample preparation and laboratory workflows.
- Ensure a tidy, organized, and safe work environment in line with laboratory standards.
Qualifications for the Sample Preparation Technician:
- Preferred experience ranges from one to three years.
- Basic computer proficiency is a must.
- Candidates must be dependable, precise, and able to manage repetitive tasks.
- An acute attention to detail is essential as the nature of the work is exacting.
- Availability to work onsite in Chesterfield from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM is necessary.
- Comfort in a laboratory environment with variable standing and sitting periods is required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed is required.
- Must comply with PPE requirements.
