$75,000-$85,000 Engineering Technician Role Overview
The Senior Principal Manufacturing Technician performs advanced and specialized technical work that may establish new procedures or support complex manufacturing initiatives. This role applies proven technical methods, broad experience, and long-term planning to drive continuous improvement and successful project execution. The position serves as a technical resource to engineering and manufacturing teams and provides guidance to lower-level technicians.
The role includes detailed design work using SolidWorks to support tool and die manufacturing processes, along with hands-on expertise in CNC machining, metal cutting and milling, and MasterCAM. Engineering Technician Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide teams through complex technical projects and decisions
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute technical projects with minimal supervision
  • Support project planning during design and development phases
  • Apply advanced technical expertise to solve manufacturing and design challenges
  • Serve as a technical resource across engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Contribute to long-term improvement initiatives and process optimization
  • Train, mentor, and support technicians, co-ops, and entry-level engineers
  • Independently assist other technicians and review routine technical work
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of assigned project work

Engineering Technician Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a related technical field (Mechanical Engineering Technology, CAD, or similar) or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in a related manufacturing or engineering support role
  • Strong expertise in a chosen technical discipline
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and experience supporting tool and die manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of CNC machining, metal cutting, milling, and MasterCAM
  • Proven experience leading projects through completion and implementation
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Strong oral communication and excellent written communication skills
  • Proficient with moderately complex technical tools, equipment, and standard office software
