Job Summary
The Senior Medical Lab Technician or Medical Technologist for Chemistry is a vital role located in Madison, Wisconsin. The individual in this position will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests and analyses to support medical diagnostics and patient care, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures in the field of chemistry.
- Ensure that all tests are conducted accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to guarantee optimal functioning.
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols within the laboratory environment.
- Document and report test results in a timely manner, providing clear interpretations as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss findings and assist in decision-making processes.
- Participate in continuous education and training programs to stay updated with advancements in laboratory science.
Qualifications
- Possession of an Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
- Alternatively, equivalent education and training that includes at least 60 semester hours, comprising 24 semester hours focused on medical laboratory science.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety standards and practices.
