Job Summary
The purpose of this role is to oversee the solution area’s comprehensive release planning. This includes maintaining the calendar, identifying dependencies, assessing capacity, managing risks, setting readiness criteria, and making go/no-go decisions. The position requires effective coordination of sequencing and tradeoffs among interconnected releases while guiding release owners and ensuring adherence to the release management framework.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage the integrated release plan for the solution area.
- Coordinate calendar activities and track dependencies across releases.
- Assess capacity and identify risks associated with releases.
- Establish readiness criteria and make informed go/no-go decisions.
- Lead release owners and enforce compliance with the release management framework.
- Resolve issues arising across teams to ensure smooth delivery.
- Provide leadership with a clear and accurate view of delivery health metrics.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in program management, release management, or technical program leadership.
- Demonstrated capability in managing a portfolio or program area effectively.
- Proven ability to manage simultaneous interdependent releases.
- Strong decision-making skills under pressure for prioritization and go/no-go choices.
- Ability to align stakeholders effectively without direct authority.
- Familiarity with enterprise release practices, including stage gates and release calendars.
- Experience in employing dependency mapping and DORA-style metrics for performance assessment.
