Job Summary
The Senior Satellite Mechanical Engineer focusing on Optical Structures will play a vital role in the design, development, and verification of optical systems within satellite platforms. This position requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, particularly as they apply to the intricacies of optical components and their integration into spacecraft systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze mechanical structures related to optical systems in satellites.
- Perform simulations and modeling to ensure optimal performance of optical components under various conditions.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to integrate optical structures with satellite systems.
- Oversee testing and validation of optical structure designs to meet stringent reliability and performance criteria.
- Provide engineering support and troubleshooting for existing optical systems in the satellite lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in mechanical design and analysis for aerospace or satellite applications.
- Familiarity with optical engineering principles and materials.
- Strong skills in CAD software and finite element analysis tools.
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
