Job Summary
The primary role involves the development and management of AI-driven systems designed to measure buildings through various sources, such as images, plans, drawings, and 3D models. The position is responsible for estimating the materials and quantities required for construction projects. This role also focuses on delivering scalable features across different building product categories while enhancing accuracy based on real-world outcomes. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with clients and cross-functional teams, provide mentorship to engineers, and take ownership of system quality.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain AI-powered systems for measuring buildings from multiple data sources.
- Estimate materials and quantities needed for construction based on measurements.
- Implement scalable production features across various building product categories.
- Enhance the accuracy of estimates using actual outcomes from the field.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to refine system functionality.
- Mentor fellow engineers and ensure high standards of system quality.
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years of experience in designing, delivering, and operating production software.
- Experience with production-level AI or machine learning features.
- Practical knowledge of large language models (LLMs).
- Familiarity with scalable measurement, estimation, or forecasting systems.
- Knowledge of distributed systems and data pipelines.
- Expertise in AI-native engineering practices.
- Preferred experience in construction technology, computer vision, geometry, and 3D modeling.
