Job description

**Job Title: Captain**

The Captain is tasked with overseeing the secure navigation and mechanical functionality of NOAA research vessels, ensuring adherence to all relevant safety and environmental standards. This role includes organizing routine vessel maintenance, delivering safety briefings prior to departures, and facilitating scientific missions by operating deck machinery. Applicants should have an active USCG license (100 tons or more) along with a minimum of 2 years of experience on research or law enforcement vessels. Furthermore, candidates must be certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED, and should be physically fit enough to lift 75 pounds and perform duties in challenging offshore conditions.
