Job Summary
The Special Investigative Unit Coordinator oversees inquiries related to fraud, waste, and abuse in the healthcare sector, guaranteeing adherence to regulatory standards. This position requires effective management of investigative teams and entails coordination with both internal and external partners. Additionally, the coordinator is responsible for presenting investigation results to upper management.
Responsibilities
- Manage and direct investigations concerning fraud, waste, and abuse within the healthcare context.
- Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations and standards.
- Supervise and mentor investigative staff to achieve departmental goals.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, both internally and externally, to facilitate investigations.
- Report and present findings of investigations to leadership for decision-making purposes.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- At least 3 years of experience in healthcare investigations or compliance roles.
- In-depth understanding of healthcare laws, including HIPAA and Medicare/Medicaid regulations.
