Job description
Job Summary
The Sr Laboratory Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the optimum functionality of laboratory instruments and equipment. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing a wide variety of technical issues, as well as performing regular inspections and preventive maintenance to support laboratory operations efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on laboratory equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and provide timely solutions.
- Perform regular inspections to ensure all equipment meets operational standards.
- Document maintenance activities and equipment performance metrics.
- Assist in the setup and calibration of new laboratory devices.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to identify equipment needs and improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field; additional certifications preferred.
- Proven experience in laboratory equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
