Job Summary

The Sr. Site Manager for Clinical Engineering is responsible for providing comprehensive strategic and operational direction for clinical engineering services within a designated hospital or health system. This role entails administering the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) to guarantee exceptional service quality, adherence to regulations, customer satisfaction, and efficient operations. The Sr. Site Manager plays a crucial role in mentoring and guiding clinical engineering teams while overseeing aspects such as staffing, performance, financial outcomes, and ongoing improvement initiatives. Additionally, this position serves as a vital link connecting hospital executives, leadership, internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily clinical engineering functions and the implementation of the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) to ensure service quality, operational efficiency, and satisfaction of customer needs.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for technicians and supervisors while managing staffing, performance evaluations, and employee satisfaction.
  • Monitor site key performance indicators (KPIs), which include preventive maintenance, work orders, compliance with regulations, and overall service performance.
  • Manage service contracts, financial aspects including budgets and P&L responsibilities, labor, parts, and inventory.
  • Ensure adherence to Joint Commission and relevant regulatory standards while maintaining accurate performance records and prioritizing necessary corrective actions.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies, analyze root causes, and leverage continuous improvement strategies for enhanced performance.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with hospital executives, C-suite personnel, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders to meet their requirements effectively.
  • Seek opportunities for service expansion and growth in accordance with customer and organizational goals.
  • Prepare and deliver quarterly value reviews, system reports, and updates on operational performance to leadership and clients.
  • Develop and implement site strategies that align with organizational objectives, including travel to various sites as necessary for business operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electronics, engineering, technology, clinical engineering, or a similar discipline, along with a minimum of 7 years of managerial experience in a clinical engineering or healthcare technology setting.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably as a Site Manager, with a proven record of developing and mentoring technical teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial management including budget oversight, revenue generation, and cost analysis.
  • Familiarity with clinical engineering practices, medical equipment oversight, regulatory standards, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with skills in root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with executives, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Excellent skills in written and verbal communication, organizational capacities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business applications.
  • Capacity to balance daily operational management with strategic long-term planning within authorized frameworks.
  • Preferred technical certifications such as A+, CBET, CRES, CLES, or CCE.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with the ability to travel as needed.
