Staff Accountant

Job Summary

The role entails overseeing and executing daily accounting functions, encompassing the general ledger closure, reconciliations, financial reporting, budget management, audit assistance, and the accounting for endowments, investments, and fixed assets. This position plays a crucial part in maintaining payroll and accounting system integrations, processing employee expense reports, supporting tax and regulatory submissions, and contributing to cash management and enhancement of processes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate general ledger close and reconciliations.
• Compile and present financial reports and assist in budget management.
• Support audit processes and provide accounting for endowments, investments, and fixed assets.
• Manage payroll along with accounting system integrations and process employee expenses.
• Assist with tax and regulatory filings while actively contributing to cash management strategies.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the accounting department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of two years of accounting experience, preferably in a medium-sized organization.
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software; experience with ERP systems is preferred.
• Preference for candidates familiar with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central.
