Job Summary
The Staff Telecommunications Engineer plays a crucial role in setting up, testing, and ensuring the maintenance of network components that support NG9-1-1 services. This position entails providing advanced tier III support, overseeing the functionality of production systems, and coordinating upgrades for both hardware and software components.
Responsibilities
- Configure and test network elements associated with NG9-1-1 services.
- Provide tier III escalation support for technical issues.
- Monitor and ensure the performance of production systems.
- Manage software and hardware upgrades effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the telecommunications field.
- Strong knowledge of telephony protocols including SIP, SS7, and ISDN.
- Experience working in Linux environments.
