Job description
Job Summary
The Stepdown Neuro RN is responsible for providing specialized nursing care for patients recovering from neurological procedures or events. This role involves close monitoring and assessment of patients to ensure their recovery process is smooth and effective.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor patient vital signs and neurological status continuously, documenting any changes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families about recovery protocols and health management.
- Respond to emergencies and provide necessary interventions promptly.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
- Current and valid nursing license as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience in a stepdown or critical care setting, particularly with neurological patients.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred but not mandatory.
