Job Summary
The Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in the preparation and distribution of sterile pharmaceutical products. This position requires a meticulous approach to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations while providing high-quality care to patients during night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and compound sterile medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to uphold safety and sanitation standards.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of compounded products.
- Assist in managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
- Document all compounding activities in accordance with pharmacy policies and federal regulations.
- Participate in training and educational programs to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pharmacy technician program preferred.
- Certification as a pharmacy technician is highly regarded.
- Previous experience in a sterile compounding environment is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with the pharmacy team.
