Job Summary
The Sterile Processing Technician is a vital role within healthcare settings, ensuring the proper cleaning, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and supplies. Responsibilities
- Execute cleaning and sterilization processes for medical instruments, ensuring they are prepared for surgical use.
- Conduct routine inspections of sterile supplies and equipment for quality assurance.
- Adhere to strict safety and hygiene protocols at all times to mitigate any risk of infection.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles and inventory of sterile supplies.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to understand their instrumentation needs and ensure availability.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on best practices in sterile processing.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in a related field is a plus.
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to operate sterilization equipment and maintain thorough documentation.
- Knowledge of infection control standards and procedures.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
