Job Summary
The Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of sterile supplies and ensuring instruments are properly disinfected. This position is vital for patient safety and the effective operation of healthcare services, overseeing the decontamination, inspection, and sterilization processes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the correct cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical devices.
- Adhere to established protocols for instrument handling and disposal.
- Maintain reliable records of sterilization processes and inspections.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to address inventory needs and service requirements.
- Continuously monitor and assess sterilization equipment for functionality and safety.
Qualifications
