Job Summary
The Sterile Processing Technician for the Operating Room (OR) plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of surgical instruments and equipment. This position is located in Sacramento, California, and is offered on a per diem basis. The technician will be integral in supporting various healthcare settings, from major medical centers to community hospitals and outpatient clinics, focusing on delivering high-quality care to patients.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all surgical instruments and tools are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained.
- Assist in organizing and managing sterile supplies and equipment throughout the operating room.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure an efficient workflow and readiness for procedures.
- Adhere to infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in training and development to stay updated on best practices in sterile processing and handling.
Qualifications
- Relevant certification or training in sterile processing or a related field.
- Experience working in an operating room or similar healthcare environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to following established protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
