Job Summary
The Central Service Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the hygiene and functionality of medical instruments by conducting thorough cleaning, maintenance, and sterilization. This position also involves managing the processing of case carts and ensuring that all items are properly stored in a sterile environment within the department.
Responsibilities
- Conduct cleaning, maintenance, and sterilization of medical instruments.
- Oversee the processing of case carts.
- Ensure proper sterile storage of items in the department.
- Orient and train staff on sterile processing operations.
Qualifications
- Must have completed an approved Central Service Technician course or possess a minimum of one year of experience in hospital sterile processing.
- Ability to effectively train and orient new staff in the sterile processing environment.
