Job Summary
The Sterilization Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the sterilization processes within a healthcare facility. This role involves ensuring that all instruments and equipment are properly sanitized according to established protocols and standards, thereby guaranteeing the safety and quality of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise daily sterilization operations to maintain compliance with health regulations.
- Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of sterilization equipment.
- Implement and monitor sterilization practices and protocols.
- Provide training and support to staff on sterilization procedures.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess sterilization effectiveness.
- Document and report any issues related to sterilization processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field preferred.
- Experience in a sterilization or surgical services setting.
- Strong understanding of sterilization techniques and procedures.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Certification in Sterile Processing is a plus.
