Job Summary
The School Nurse Substitute plays a vital role in enhancing the health and safety framework within the educational environment. This position involves creating personalized health care strategies for students, administering medications, and responding to emergency situations effectively. The nurse ensures comprehensive health records are kept and works in tandem with a multidisciplinary team to address the diverse needs of students.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individual health care plans for students.
- Administer medications and provide emergency first aid as necessary.
- Maintain meticulous health records to ensure compliance and accurate health tracking.
- Collaborate with various specialists to support the health needs of students.
Qualifications
- An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in New Jersey.
- Current certifications in CPR and PALS are essential.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and obtain Department of Education clearance.
