Job Summary
We are seeking a Surgical Assistant for a contract position located in Ravenna, Ohio, that spans 13 weeks. This role is essential to support surgical procedures and enhance patient care within the operating room environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in various surgical procedures and ensure patient safety.
- Maintain a sterile field during surgeries.
- Collaborate with surgeons and other medical staff to facilitate optimal surgical outcomes.
- Prepare surgical instruments and equipment prior to procedures.
- Provide support to patients as they awaken from anesthesia.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a surgical assistant role.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Verification of required licenses and certificates.
- Pass specific health checks and vaccinations, including Hepatitis B and Influenza.
- Complete necessary pre-employment screenings per UHS standards, such as background checks and drug screening.
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
- Completion of UHS training modules and competency exams.
