Job Summary
The surgical technician position entails working during the day from Monday to Friday at a highly regarded community hospital. The role requires the individual to be on call approximately one weekday and two weekends each month. Quick response times are essential, as technicians must be prepared to arrive within 30 minutes or may opt to stay overnight in the call room for convenience.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgical teams in preparing for and conducting surgical procedures.
- Ensure that all instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
- Maintain a clean and organized operating room environment.
- Participate in the setup and breakdown of surgery equipment.
- Follow hospital protocols and safety guidelines during procedures.
- Respond to on-call requirements efficiently, adhering to the specified response times.
Qualifications
- Relevant certification or training as a surgical technician.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Availability to meet call duty requirements as needed.
