Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in the operating room by ensuring the maintenance of a sterile environment, preparing the surgical setting, and assisting surgeons by providing necessary instruments during surgical procedures. This position requires collaboration with the perioperative team to prioritize patient safety and effectively manage surgical specimens throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
- Prepare operating rooms for various surgical interventions.
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies during operations.
- Work closely with the perioperative team to promote patient safety.
- Manage and handle surgical specimens appropriately.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Surgical Technologist program.
- High school diploma.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Preferred: Three to four years of experience in a surgical environment.
- Preferred: Certification as a SRNA or EMT.
