Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist (CST) – OR Cardio Vascular position in Hartford, Connecticut involves delivering exceptional care to patients. The role is focused on facilitating advanced medical treatments and ensuring a sterile environment during surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the operating room before surgeries, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are present.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure.
- Support the surgical team during operations, providing necessary instruments as required.
- Participate in post-operative care and ensure proper handling of specimens.
- Engage in ongoing training, including advanced medical simulation training, to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Must hold certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or have the ability to obtain it shortly.
- Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program is required.
- Experience in handling and understanding sterile techniques is essential.
- Willingness to undergo an orientation process to become familiar with protocols and procedures.
