Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist (CST) in the Operating Room for General Surgery is an essential member of the surgical team, ensuring that all necessary instruments and equipment are available and prepared for surgical procedures. This role is vital in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, as well as contributing to the overall care and safety of patients during surgeries. Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field by ensuring that surgical instruments and supplies are ready for use.
- Assist surgeons and other medical personnel during operations by passing instruments and anticipating their needs.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of surgical waste and biohazard materials.
- Participate in maintaining inventory and ordering supplies required for surgeries.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is required.
- Previous experience in a surgical setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Competency in computer skills related to the management of surgical operations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the surgical team.
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in high-pressure situations.
