Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist (CST) in the OR for General Surgery plays a crucial role in the surgical team, ensuring that every moment in the operating room is vital for patient care. You will be part of an acute-care community teaching hospital dedicated to delivering exceptional healthcare to a diverse patient population, from newborns to adults.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining a sterile environment throughout surgical procedures.
- Prepare and organize surgical instruments and supplies before operations.
- Support surgeons and other medical staff during various surgical procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation protocols in the operating room.
- Participate in patient care before and after surgery under the guidance of medical professionals.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technician program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the ability to obtain it.
- Knowledge of sterile techniques and instruments used in surgery.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
