Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist (CST) -OR General Surgery position is crucial for providing exceptional surgical care at the Hospital of Central Connecticut. This role emphasizes the significance of timely and effective assistance in the operating room, contributing to the well-being of patients throughout their surgical experience. Working in an acute-care community teaching hospital, the Surgical Technologist will support a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring that every moment in the operating room is leveraged to enhance patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures, including arranging necessary instruments and equipment.
- Support surgeons and other medical staff during surgical operations.
- Maintain a sterile environment to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
- Handle surgical instruments and supplies with care and precision.
- Participate in patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is required.
- Prior experience in a surgical setting is favorable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.
