Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist I, OR plays a crucial role within the surgical team at WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, NC. This position is responsible for assisting medical professionals in delivering surgical care to a diverse patient population. The Surgical Technologist applies both theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to sterile and aseptic techniques, ensuring a safe environment for surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the operating room and ensuring it is equipped with necessary surgical tools.
- Maintain sterile fields during surgical procedures to prevent infection.
- Support surgeons and other medical personnel during operations.
- Handle, clean, and arrange surgical instruments before and after use.
- Document procedures and maintain accurate records related to surgical operations.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Certification from a recognized surgical technology certifying body is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and sterile techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
