Job Summary
Memorial Hospital in Yakima, WA is looking for a dedicated Surgical Technologist to become a valuable member of the operating room team during the day shift. In this critical role, you will provide support in the care and preparation of patients who are undergoing surgical procedures, while also overseeing the management of surgical instruments and equipment, all under the guidance of an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN).
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are ready for surgeries.
- Provide care for surgical patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Work closely with the OR RN to maintain a sterile environment and adhere to surgical protocols.
- Manage and organize surgical instruments, ensuring they are accounted for and properly maintained.
- Follow established procedures and guidelines to support the surgical team effectively.
Qualifications
- Completion of a surgical technology program or equivalent training.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred, demonstrating a commitment to the profession.
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and sterile techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the surgical team.
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
