Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist plays an essential role in the Operating Room by providing assistance during surgical procedures and ensuring the implementation of best practices in sterile technique. Located in Newark, Ohio, this position requires a hands-on approach to patient care services and collaboration with medical teams, including Registered Nurses and physicians, to support a wide array of specialized medical services.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgical teams by preparing and maintaining the sterile field during operations.
- Prepare operating room equipment and ensure all necessary instruments are available for surgical procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with registered nurses and surgeons to facilitate optimal patient care.
- Adhere to stringent practices for maintaining sterility and safety standards within the surgical environment.
- Participate in patient care services, supporting both preoperative and postoperative needs.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards set by healthcare organizations.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
- Experience in an operating room setting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in sterile techniques and understanding of surgical procedures.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
