Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist OR plays a crucial role in the operating room by assisting surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures. This position requires ensuring all surgical instruments and supplies are properly sterilized and ready for use, thereby contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of surgical operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the operating room environment to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
- Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sutures, and other items during procedures.
- Guarantee that all surgical tools meet strict sterilization standards prior to use.
- Support patient care providers by preparing the necessary documentation and supplies.
- Assist in implementing safety processes to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician program (NCCT certification preferred).
- Experience as a Surgical Technologist is highly favorable, with a minimum of two years in a similar role.
- Ability to label and assess patient needs effectively, alongside collaborating with care providers for comprehensive patient support.
- Strong understanding of surgical instruments and their uses in various procedures.
