Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist plays a critical role in the operating room by supporting surgical procedures and ensuring that the environment is safe and sterile for patients. They assist surgeons and healthcare staff by preparing instruments, materials, and the operating area to facilitate efficient surgical operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the operating room by ensuring all surgical instruments are sterilized and readily available.
- Assist during surgeries by passing instruments and providing necessary support to the surgical team.
- Ensure patient safety by adhering to established protocols and maintaining a sterile environment at all times.
- Participate in the cleanup and restocking of the operating room after procedures.
- Be attentive to the needs of the surgical team and anticipate the requirements of each surgical procedure.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
- Strong understanding of surgical instruments and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.
