Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist OR plays a crucial role in the operating room by ensuring that all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and ready for use. This position involves working closely with the surgical team to provide optimal patient care and support throughout the surgical procedure. The Surgical Technologist is responsible for understanding the needs of patients and collaborating effectively with healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring they meet sterilization standards.
- Assist the surgical team by providing necessary supplies and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Label and organize surgical tools for ease of access during procedures.
- Collaborate with patient care providers to assess and address patient needs pre-operatively and post-operatively.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Surgical Technologist program or equivalent training.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and safety protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and the surgical team.
