Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist specializes in the operating room, providing vital assistance during surgical procedures. The role encompasses ensuring a sterile environment, preparing instruments, and contributing to patient care during operations to enhance safety and efficiency. Surgical Technologists are integral to the surgical team, facilitating smooth operations through various supportive tasks.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Maintain sterility of instruments and the surgical field throughout operations.
- Assist surgeons and surgical staff by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
- Monitor the patient’s condition and report any significant changes.
- Follow protocols to enhance patient safety and manage risk.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (preferred).
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization techniques.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow established protocols.
