Job Summary
The Medical Surgical RN for the Night Shift is a registered nurse responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients in a medical-surgical unit during night hours. This role encompasses assessing and monitoring patients, executing care plans, and collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and therapies as prescribed by physicians.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care processes.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the medical team.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients and their families.
- Document all patient interactions and care provided accurately in medical records.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Prior experience in a medical-surgical nursing setting is desirable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
