Job Summary
The position of Surgical Technologist – OR in Urbana, Illinois, is essential for providing pivotal support in the surgical setting. This role includes the execution of vital tasks that ensure safe and effective patient care throughout surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist is involved in various capacities, including acting as the first or second assisting technician during surgeries, playing a crucial role in both preparation and execution phases of surgical interventions. A bonus is available for eligible candidates.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the surgical process by providing support as the first or second Surgical Technician.
- Ensure that sterility and safety principles are strictly followed during procedures.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and microbiology to assist effectively in surgeries.
- Prepare and maintain the surgical field, ensuring that all instruments and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
- Support the surgical team in a collaborative and efficient manner, facilitating a smooth surgical experience for the patient.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated understanding of sterile techniques and preparation for surgical procedures.
- Knowledge of relevant medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Ability to work effectively within a team in a high-pressure environment.
- Prior experience as a Surgical Technologist or in a related field is preferred.
