Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist – OR plays a critical role in supporting surgical procedures within the operating room. This position involves collaboration with surgeons and other medical staff to enhance the safety and effectiveness of surgical interventions. The individual in this role is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring that all necessary instruments are properly prepared and available for use during surgeries.

Responsibilities

  • Assist surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures.
  • Prepare and sterilize operating instruments and equipment before and after surgeries.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the operating room to ensure patient safety.
  • Monitor and anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures.
  • Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and instruments.
  • Participate in the ongoing education and training in surgical practices and protocols.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
  • Knowledge of surgical procedures and sterilization techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
