Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist – OR is a vital member of the surgical team responsible for facilitating and ensuring the smooth operation of the surgical environment. This role involves close collaboration with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, particularly in the operating room setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room prior to surgical procedures.
- Ensure the sterilization of instruments and equipment to uphold patient safety standards.
- Support the surgical team by providing necessary instruments and supplies during operations.
- Participate in the overall maintenance of a sterile environment throughout procedures.
- Contribute to effective communication and teamwork within the surgical team.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
- Experience in an operating room setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of sterile techniques and surgical procedures.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Excellent decision-making skills regarding medical conditions and patient safety.
