Job Summary

The Medical-Surgical 2E Nightshift position is essential for ensuring high standards of patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive nursing services to patients during night hours. This role entails delivering care that encompasses patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, focused on promoting optimal health outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and devise individualized care plans based on patient needs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Monitor patient progress and modify care plans as necessary while documenting all interactions and interventions accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and address any complications that arise.
• Educate patients and families regarding health conditions, treatment options, and necessary care procedures to support ongoing wellness.
• Participate in shift handover meetings to ensure continuity of care and communicate critical patient information effectively.
• Adhere to established infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Qualifications

• Current and valid nursing license for the applicable state.
• Preferably one or more years of experience in a medical-surgical nursing setting.
• Strong understanding of patient care standards and best practices within a hospital environment.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to offer effective patient care.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple patient needs simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work night shifts and adapt to the demands of the healthcare facility.
