Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist OR role entails supporting surgical teams by assisting in various functions throughout the surgical procedures. This position is critical in ensuring the operating room is sterile, organized, and equipped with the necessary instruments. The technologist will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals and patients to guarantee the highest standard of care during surgical operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgical teams during procedures by providing necessary instruments, supplies, and surgical equipment.
- Ensure the operating room maintains a sterile environment before, during, and after surgeries.
- Label and prepare surgical specimens and manage the necessary documentation.
- Perform routine checks on surgical instruments and equipment to guarantee functionality.
- Support patient care providers by addressing patient needs and concerns during surgical processes.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program, such as the Operating Room Technician program.
- Eligibility for medical benefits, including dental and vision, as part of the employment package.
- Prior experience as a Surgical Tech II or in a similar surgical environment preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and patients.
- Ability to remain composed and efficient in high-pressure situations, typical of operating rooms.
