Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist OR plays a vital role in the operating room, ensuring that surgical procedures run smoothly by preparing the necessary instruments and maintaining a sterile environment. This position is crucial in assisting with various surgical practices and supporting the medical team effectively.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment to ensure they meet sterilization standards.
- Follow safety protocols, including fire safety procedures, in the operating room.
- Assist the surgical team by providing necessary instruments during procedures.
- Collaborate with patient care providers to assess and respond to patients’ needs.
- Label and organize surgical supplies appropriately for efficient access.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credentials is preferred.
- Knowledge of sterilization processes and operating room safety protocols.
- Ability to function well under pressure in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork and patient interaction.
